A bowl of rocks

my bowl of rocks

Sometimes I get so caught up in scenes in my head that I can write for hours without realizing how fast the time is ticking by. But there are other days – other weeks, when the inspiration is just not there. My thoughts go quiet and my mind acts like a stone wall that won’t let me in, and when I reach for my imagination it’s gone awol. I can do many things when this happens. I can wallow in it and waiting for my imagination to come back from wherever its hid itself. I can throw myself at books and tv shows in a tantrum to hide from my imagination. I can turn my back on words entirely and find another passion. Ha! Take that empty brain! But often, this is when I drag out my bowl of rocks and ask my rock words for help.

Creative Writing Challenge #2: Put the words below into a poem or paragraph or short story.

The rock words who came to help

I will be posting what I came up with early next week. If you so desire you can leave me a comment or link up your own post with what you’ve come up with! I’d love to read it.

  1. Sometimes prompts like this are just what we need when the words aren’t coming out! : )
